    Good tips. I can especially see the importance of About Us pages. Whenever I see a website without one, it makes me wonder if the company is embarrassed by itself or just doesn’t want to give any information about the people involved in the firm.

      I completely agree with you. Every website should have one and i think the issue may be that business owners don’t know how to write about themselves and are reluctant to get others to handle this section for them. I have completed quite a few about us pieces of content for this very reason and 9/10 times they are very unsure of what people could possibly want to know.

    This is great advice, and I liked how you used Denny’s as an example. I think it’s easy to lose perspective when you’re doing your own website and have total control. It’s tempting to put whatever you want on there and not focus it too much. Denny’s, on the other hand, really has their target demographic nailed down (middle class families). And video is a must nowadays. At least some videos here and there on a website are worth it.

    the tip of videos is a great one and made me think of the tic tac ads. The magician guy from youtube is all of a sudden on their ads and makes it entertaining to many who were avid watchers of his youtube channel. Great work for them taking advantage of his popularity and large following.

      Same here. If I find a detailed About Us page it gives me confidence. If I don’t, I’m likely to just head for another company/person/blog.

    Not relating is a serious issue. I have a huge audience for makeup and face painting videos because of the level I work at, but it’s hard to aim it at adults vs. teens vs. kids. So hard to plan correctly.

    I agree that including professional grade videos on your site can attract customers. Many visitors will have time to read your text content while watching a video. Including how-to demonstrations in a video, and/or a bit of humor, will make your product or service memorable.
